“When I think about the architecture of nature I realize this body of work is about the construction of our subconscious in relation to the natural world. I look for building blocks, primordial forms that are the foundation of this relationship. Seeds are a natural step in this process. Like the egg they are symbolic of the beginning of life, the dormant phase, and are a symbol of the creative process.

The microcosm of the natural world has opened up an alternate world for me. I roam through it with my microscope in search of sculpture. Everything in the miniature world is visually stimulating. It is my job to find forms that are sculptural, that beg to be enlarged.”
